the stone house air-conditioned B&B near pezenas south of france languedoc
so, you're thinking about joining us at the stone house
b&b near pezenas. that's great news! okay, so first
things first: let's talk about your arrival in caux.
park the car where you'd like, wear what you'd like . . .
and feel yourself begin to relax. take a deep breath of the
mountain air and make yourself at home as you step back in
time.

don't
be surprised if you hear our mayor talking to you. he tends
to broadcast the day's news - or whatever else happens to
be on his mind - from loudspeakers perched on top of the
cathedral. yes, really.
you'll also need to watch out for the village's older
residents on their bicycles: bags of fruit and long
baguettes can sometimes make them a little unsteady.
. . . and go easy on the croissants in the morning: warm
from the oven, one quickly leads to another, and then
another.

these are the only things you'll need to worry about in
caux.
the village of caux has two bars (both serve food), a pizza
place (take-out only), two bakeries, a pharmacy, a
newsagent, and a greengrocer. you can read more about caux
by clicking
here.
we don't have a pool at the stone house, but this gorgeous
pool, below, belongs to les cordeliers, a friendly local
restaurant just five minutes from here . . . of course,
their lunch and dinner guests are invited to use the pool .
. . and (very) comfortable sun loungers . . . for as long
as they'd like.

pezenas, just a 5 minute drive away, was described in the
rough guide as 'one of the most beautiful towns in
southwest france,' with its cobbled streets, pavement
cafes, shops, artisan workshops, and restaurants.
fresh-baked bread and croissants, warm crepes, waffles, ice
cream, local wine and cheese are everywhere - indulge
yourself!

the coast and the mountains are both less than 30 minutes
away. for a taste of civilisation, beziers (25 mins) and
montpellier (45 mins) offer a wide range of galleries,
concert halls, theatres, museums, shops, cafes and
restaurants.

. . . for the sports enthusiast, the area offers everything
from horseback riding to kayaking, and from hiking to
caving.
so, what are you waiting for? we know that your kids are
driving you crazy. or that your parents are. or maybe both,
if you're
really
lucky.
ask for some time off from work, leave the commute and the
headaches behind, and come and see us. you won't need fancy
clothes, we don't use coasters, and we don't even own an
iron. just bring yourself, a good appetite . . and maybe a
book or two.
